Role Description
The Business Development Manager, CPG will be responsible for generating consulting leads, developing proposals to address customer pain-points and selling Twelve Consulting Group services to customers across the CPG industry, growing Twelve’s brand and footprint in the CPG space. This role will also be responsible for collaborating with Anaplan and other technology providers on joint software selling pursuits that benefit our customers and help them meet their goals.
This is an exciting position for a talented, outgoing, and positive self-starter with a passion and skill for consultative selling, who is effective in balancing patience and persistence throughout the sales cycle and enjoys solving challenging problems.
What you’ll do:
- Net New Business Development of Enterprise Accounts (Land + Expand)
- Prospect, qualify, and develop relationships with new leads and existing customers to build pipeline and close new business in the CPG industry, with the goal of identifying repeat business and expand opportunities
- Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business, priorities and challenges while managing VP and CXO level relationships
- Establish Trusted Advisor status with customers, while helping them to develop their Connected Planning strategy
- Build networks internally at Twelve and across external partnerships to bring the best capabilities to your clients across Technology, Consulting, and Strategy initiatives
- Collaborate with Engagement Manager counterparts during implementations to ensure project delivers measurable value and meets the needs of executive stakeholders
- Collaborate internally with Marketing and Pre-Sales teams on selling strategies and product offerings to build and capture pipeline while delivering successful outcomes for all customers
- Lead contract negotiations for net new business development activities to protect project margin while also securing trust with the customer
- Secure and nurture customer references to speak on behalf of Twelve and Vendor Partners via testimonials, industry events, and prospect outreach
- Professionally represent TwelveCG at seminars, conferences, other sales events to establish new business leads (e.g. Anaplan AKO)
- Additional travel to client or prospect sites as business needs dictate
More about you:
- BA / BS Degree OR equivalent experience
- 5+ years of strong sales or consulting performance related to services and software
- 2+ years experience with the Anaplan platform (e.g. Consulting OR Selling Anaplan OR serving as the Customer Champion of an Anaplan customer)
- Ability to sell consultatively and communicate with confidence in delivering complex messaging to technical and non-technical executive stakeholders
- Proven ability to effectively manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiations and closing with repeated success of quota attainment
- Self-starter who finds success amidst ambiguity, shifting priorities and rapidly changing processes
- Excellent problem solver, bringing emotional intelligence, active listening, and a sense of urgency to effectively relate to clients’ needs
- Functional knowledge of Finance, Sales Performance Management (Compensation Planning, Territory & Quota, Sales Forecasting) and Supply Chain planning processes
- Demonstrated history of consensus-building across diverse organizations to align on common goals that benefit overall strategy
- Proven track record of managing and growing relationships with Enterprise customers (Company Size > $1B Annual Revenue)

Compensation:
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $120,000, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is commission eligible, with target commission anticipated to be between 1-2x base salary based on software and services quota attainment. If you are hired at Twelve, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education and prior relevant experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider any internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening, weekend work and adjustment to client time zones in the U.S. may be required as job duties demand.
